Das Schmerz-Motiv im Roman „Tema pentru acasă” von Nicolae Dabija und dessen deutschen Übertragung „Die Hausaufgabe”

Abstract

This article analyzes the motif of pain in Nicolae Dabija's novel „Tema pentru acasă” and its German translation „Die Hausaufgabe”. It highlights how the portrayal of pain intertwines with personal and collective histories, reflecting the traumatic experiences of the Bessarabian population under totalitarian regimes. The study emphasizes the role of the translator as a cultural mediator, navigating the challenges of conveying culturally specific elements across these languages. Furthermore, it explores the reception of the novel in the German-speaking context, where interpretations may abstract the historical and metaphysical dimensions of suffering. Ultimately, the paper underscores the ongoing relevance of historical trauma in shaping national identities and the complexities involved in literary translation.

REZUMAT

Acest articol analizează motivul durerii în romanul lui Nicolae Dabija „Tema pentru acasă” și în traducerea sa germană „Die Hausaufgabe”. Acesta evidențiază modul în care portretizarea durerii se împletește cu istoriile personale și colective, reflectând experiențele traumatice ale populației basarabene sub regimurile totalitare. Studiul evidențiază rolul traducătorului ca mediator cultural, navigând printre provocările transmiterii elementelor culturale specifice în aceste limbi. În plus, este explorată receptarea romanului în contextul germanofon, unde interpretările pot abstractiza dimensiunile istorice și metafizice ale suferinței. În cele din urmă, lucrarea subliniază relevanța continuă a traumei istorice în modelarea identităților naționale și complexitățile implicate în traducerea literară.
