Der Weg nach innen: Die Übersetzung der spirituellen Suche in Ana Blandianas Lyrik und ihre Rezeption im Deutschen

Abstract

The article analyzes the ”path toward the inner self” and spiritual pursuit in Ana Blandiana’s poetry, shaped through the lens of censorship imposed by the socialist regime, as well as its reception in German through Magda Hirschberger’s translations. It examines the challenges of translating poetry with a strong cultural and mystical charge, which combines a solemn tone with introspection. Although the translations preserve the emotional depth and universal themes, they oscillate between formal fidelity and interpretive adaptations. Some interventions may diminish the specificity of Romanian vernacular language or intertextuality, thereby partially altering the reception of the work in the German-speaking world.

REZUMAT

Articolul analizează „calea spre interior” şi căutarea spirituală din lirica Anei Blandiana, modelate prin prisma cenzurii impuse de regimul socialist, precum şi receptarea acesteia în limba germană prin traducerile Magdei Hirschberger. Sunt examinate provocările transferului unei poezii cu o puternică încărcătură culturală şi mistică, care îmbină tonul solemn cu reflexivitatea. Deşi traducerile păstrează profunzimea emoţională şi temele universale, ele oscilează între fidelitatea formală şi adaptările interpretative. Unele intervenţii pot diminua specificitatea limbajului vernacular românesc sau intertextualitatea, modificând, astfel, parţial receptarea operei în spaţiul germanofon.
